I traveled with Luke to his hometown in Retford, England. A nice break from Oxford life, studying, essay writing and work. We visited his uncle Pete's workshop, sights and smells that sent shockwaves of memories of my old grandfather's 'tool shed'. We also visited Lincoln cathedral. Lincoln was mostly beautiful but the city center felt a bit too comfortable and over-touristy. The homogenization of cultural diversity is terrifying. McDonalds and Starbucks are like invasive species.
We also visited the white horse of Uffington which is a curious prehistoric hill figure and Borough Markets in London that opened to 1851 to fill an empty rabbit and pigeon meat niche.
